David’s Bio

About
David spent those wonder years in Southern Maine. He went to college in Boston, started his accounting career in 1977 and opened Stratton Payroll & Tax Services (fka Comprehensive Business Services) in 1992. He has three children who are all out of college now. He enjoys helping Small Business Owners and takes a special delight in the different business owner’s personalities.

Experience
After receiving his undergraduate degree with a Major in Finance and a Minor in Accounting from Northeastern University in 1975, David worked as an accountant in retail for 3 years and a controller at several construction firms for 11 years. He received his Master’s Degree in 1988 again from Northeastern University with a concentration in Small Business Management. He became an Enrolled Agent (EA) in 1993 which allows him to represent taxpayers before the Internal Revenue Service, but as Mark Twain once said, “I never let school interfere with my education.” David has served as the Treasurer on the Board for PACE for 8 years. He is also an active member of the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce.

Hobbies
David enjoys the great out of doors. On most weekends he can be found hiking in the White Mountains or kayaking any of a number of the area’s lakes or rivers. He is also an avid Blues fan, traveling throughout New England to Blues Shows & Festivals searching for that magic guitar lick or harmonica solo.
